DatBoiiPolo Releases Single and Visual for “What’s Really Hannin”
If you’re looking for house party music vibes, with lyrics that do not always revolve around hardships in life, DatBoiiPolo is your guy! He just released his visual for his latest single, “What’s Really Hannin,” that radiates good vibes, good energy, and good times. DatBoiiPolo creates music to give his listeners relief from stress. As someone who writes his own lyrics, the artist wants to bring people together with his sound, rhythm, and words to create a house party vibe, rather than rap about difficult obstacles in life. “What’s Really Hannin” does exactly that!
We caught up with DatBoiiPolo who said he just recently started taking music seriously in the summer of 2019. Get to know the Orange County, California artist and his other hidden talents!
When did you start taking music seriously?
It’s only been 9 months. On August 29, 2019, I dropped my first single, “Dat Boii Polo.” I started picking up a lot of attention for the sound of my voice and just sounding different in general from local artists and globally, to be real. I was hoopin’ in college in San Diego and I decided to take a year off, so when I moved home I got closer to the people who were taking music seriously. I found myself in the booth having fun but I had the talent and pushed deep into it. I wouldn’t say I take music seriously though, music for me is my stress relief for all the hard times I’ve had, so I just do it whenever I want; But, when I do get in the studio, I really focus on the science and the art of the music I’m making.
Do you have any other special talents?
Basketball. Basketball, basketball, basketball. Don’t play with me! Party promotion, too, and some acting here and there. I know how to make people laugh and feel good around me. I’d call myself an influencer. In order to do that, I know how to handle myself in many different situations.
Who is your motivation and why?
My motivation is my mother and my grandmother. I saw those two ladies fight for everything they had and everything they wanted to be in life. Growing up while watching them take on males roles that they shouldn’t have at those times pushed me to never give up even when we didn’t have it. My cousin Andre Roberson from the Oklahoma City Thunder motivates me in the basketball aspect of my life.
What impact are you looking to make with your music? Who do you want to impact?
I want to bring back that vibe of just feeling good and partying, and not having to worry about going anywhere and be judged for your music taste. I want to create a space for people to be happy, have fun, and experience joy instead of anything contradictory to that.
Have you performed for an audience or participated in any talent or television shows?
I’ve opened up for Shoreline Mafia, Blueface, and a couple music festivals when I moved back home from college, and hopped on a song. That was in the summer of 2019, only about 2 months into my music career. Once I dropped my first single in August 2019, I started getting DMs from people asking me about my booking price to perform at their parties, and from there I started putting in the work.
